William Hsieh, RPT, CAFCI, ADP Authorizer

William graduated from the physiotherapy program at the University of Toronto in 1997. Since graduating, he worked for one year in the neurosurgical unit at Wellesley Hospital before it merged with St. Michaels Hospital. In 1998, William began working at Humber River Regional Hospital in three main roles: in the neuro rehabilitation unit primarily treating patients with strokes, in the outpatient department treating patients post surgery and with a variety of pain syndromes, and as the Professional Practise Leader for physiotherapists. In 2003 he began dividing his professional practise time between two locations. He has been working with patients, primarily with spinal cord injuries, at the Lyndhurst Center, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and he has been working at Joint Rehab treating patients with a wide variety of pain, injuries, and post surgical issues.

William has continually pursued advanced learning to ensure his patients always get the best care possible. He has taken the NDT and Bobath courses, his post graduate orthopaedic courses finishing level 3, and has also received certification in acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI). He has successfully completed courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation and numerous other orthopaedic courses through APTEI. He adopts an approach of evidence based practise and treats each patient with the most up to date knowledge in the rehabilitation field.

Outside of working life, William enjoys spending time with his wife Grace and their two daughters, Faith and Charissa, and is active doing volunteer work with the church he attends. William is also pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree through Tyndale Seminary and enjoys playing a variety of sports with his remaining time.
